BRISTOL DEAF

CHRISTIAN LINK

Introduction:
Bristol Deaf Christian link has been established to enable Deaf Christians, who are scattered throughout the Bristol region, to meet each other. The Group is ecumenical, led by its Deaf members and we welcome anyone who is Deaf or who can communicate through British Sign Language (BSL).

We meet to share and develop our Christian faith through studying the Bible, discussion, prayer, and supporting and encouraging one another. Each meeting is led by a different member each time. In addition, we occasionally arrange group visits to various Christian Conferences organised by Signs of God, Deaf Christian Link UK, Churches in Greater Bristol, Kings Square Deaf Church, and other Deaf Churches throughout the Bristol region and beyond.

Furthermore, we can act as an advisory group for improving accessibility for Deaf people in hearing churches.

WINTERBOURNE SERVICE

Christian Deaf Link UK, Hands Together, and Signs of God have jointly produced a policy document on including Deaf people in the church. Bristol Deaf Christian Link welcomes many of the points raised in the document and strongly encourages churches to take practical action in improving access for Deaf people.
