New Horizon was a Christian Conference
that was held at the University of Ulster at Colraine. A very
enjoyable week began with a very early start and a frantic dash
to Bristol Airport by taxi. On arrival at Belfast International
Airport we were greated by the very warm Irish hospitality. Hazel's
father took us on a guided tour of the north coast of Northern
Ireland. We had lunch at a traditional Irish Cottage that sill
has a traditional peat-burning fire.
After lunch we had a look at the World Famous Giant's
Causeway and at a walk through the surrounding coutryside. We were
shocked at how green Ireland was compared to Bristol in the middle
of a summer heatwave.
That evening we met the Deaf Christians from Belfast Deaf Church.
Through out the week we enjoyed many evenings at Morelis. Morelis
is a famous ice cream parlour at Port Stewart that had huge glasses
full of icecream of many different flavours with syrup, cream and
fresh strawberrys. Ooh aye very nice!.
Unfortunatelly all good things had to come to an
end. Neverthless, we were left with memories of a very good week
and we sorry to leave all of our new friends in Northern Ireland.
Who knows we may be back again some time soon!.
